How playing with friends across different platforms actually works.
Mistfall Hunter has full crossplay across PC (Steam), Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, all sharing the same servers. That means a squad can be made up of players on any combination of those three platforms.
You can play solo or in a squad of up to three. There's no dedicated duo queue, but beta players confirm there's no forced party fill, so two people can play together without a random third player joining. See our full Solo vs. Co-op guide for more on how squad size changes your experience.
A single match can host up to 15 players across the map, made up of a mix of solo hunters and squads all competing for the same loot and extraction points.
Beta testing ran servers across five regions: China, the United States, Germany, Singapore, and Brazil. Players in other regions — notably Oceania and parts of South America outside Brazil — have reported higher ping and requested dedicated local servers, which haven't been officially confirmed for launch.
Mistfall Hunter is confirmed for day-one Xbox Game Pass on both Xbox consoles and PC, which is a straightforward way to try it without buying the Standard Edition outright.
The game includes in-game text and ping-based communication tools for squads. Full voice chat support has been discussed by beta players but isn't something we have official confirmation on beyond what's typical for the genre — we'll update this once it's clearly documented.
