Beta Consensus — Subject to Change

Builds & Loadouts

General build directions per class, based on what beta players are actually running. Exact talent and gem names shift patch to patch, so we're describing the shape of each build rather than a rigid step-by-step you should follow blindly.

Mercenary

Two broad directions show up in beta play: a hammer-focused heavy-hitter build leaning into stagger and burst windows, and a sword-and-shield build prioritizing survivability and consistent trades. Beginners generally get more mileage out of the sword-and-shield direction; the hammer build rewards patience and precise timing on its slower swings.

Shadowstrix

The dominant build direction is dual-swords, built around chaining dodges into combo openers and stacking wound-style effects for a follow-up burst. The tradeoff is a thin margin for error — mistime an engage and you have little to fall back on.

Sorcerer

Beta builds generally split between a control-focused direction (freezes, barriers, crowd control) and a straight burst-damage direction. Both lean on staying at range and using mobility tools to avoid ever being caught in melee.

Black Arrow

Builds generally split between a bleed/damage-over-time direction and an area-denial direction using traps and zone-control arrows. Positioning matters more than raw damage output — Black Arrow has little defense if closed on directly.

Seer

Two support paths show up: one leaning fully into healing and shielding for squad sustain, and a more aggressive path mixing melee strikes with burst magic for a Seer that can also contribute damage. Which you pick depends heavily on whether your squad already has enough offense and just needs someone keeping them alive.

Withered Knight

As the newest class added during beta, build consensus is still forming. Early reports describe it as reliant on team coordination and setup rather than raw individual output — it appears to reward playing with a squad more than most other classes.

A Note on Specifics

We're deliberately not listing exact talent names, gem priorities, or stat numbers here — those change with balance patches often enough that publishing them now would go stale fast and potentially mislead you. Once the game is out of beta and patch cadence slows, we'll expand this page with concrete loadouts.
