Before Your First Run

Use the training area. Beta feedback consistently flags the aim-based combat as having a real learning curve — get comfortable with dodge timing and stance-swapping before you're risking a loot bag.
Pick a forgiving class first. Withered Knight and Mercenary are the classes beta players most often recommend to newcomers — both are melee-focused with decent survivability, so a mistake doesn't end your run instantly the way a squishy ranged class can.
Go in solo before trios. You'll learn the map, looting rhythm, and enemy patterns faster without also managing team coordination. Move to squads once the core loop feels comfortable.

Don't fight everything. Elite enemies and named bosses hit hard — see our Enemies & Bosses page before picking fights you don't need to take.
Watch your stamina, not just your health. Beta players report that running stamina to zero leaves you stunned for an uncomfortably long window — bail out of a fight before you're empty, not after.
Loot with a plan to leave. Every extra chest is extra time in a map where rival hunters are also looking for a fight. Know roughly where your nearest exit option is before you commit to exploring further.
